Call for Submissions:
Sexual Assault Awareness Month
This April, Rest for Resistance is offering space to transgender, non-binary, and/or two-spirit BIPoC voices to share about being survivors of sexual violence.
As always, we feature Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPoC) specifically.
We’re honored to share your perspectives on healing, emotional challenges and wellness. Please do not feel pressured to include specific details of events you have survived unless that serves your own healing. You have the power to define your truth, your identities, and your journey forward from violence.
The writing we feature isn't limited by genre, as you can see from last April’s features. Essays and short stories average 1000 to 1250 words. Please submit all writing as a .docx file.
Deadline: Tuesday, March 26
Subject: “April Submission: [Your Name]”
Artist portfolios also welcome in our inbox! Writing on Rest for Resistance is always paired with visual art by Black, Indigenous, and/or POC who embody queerness.
All featured contributors will be paid $50.
